    Petition to Block Oil Drilling in Downtown Wichita, Kansas

    Petition summary and background Drilling for oil is being proposed in downtown Wichita, and residents have great concern for the economic, development, and environmental impacts that this could have for our entire community. We are raising our voices to Mayor Carl Brewer and the Wichita City Council to BLOCK this proposal. We ask you to actively back choices that contribute to the growth of this city, not those then delay or stop them. Support activities that improve our quality of life, not reduce them. It is counterintuitive to choose this risk over investment in development and public welfare. Please invest in us, so we will continue to invest in our city - as residents, business owners, shoppers, and visitors.
