GENERAL DIRECTIONS: Examine the following text and answer the questions that follow. Be concise with your answers but make sure that they are substantial.

Give a probable interpretation of the Book of Job. In doing so, make sure that you identify the correct genre of the text. A little research might help you to come up with the correct interpretation. Consider the following questions but dont be limited by them. What is the book all about (content)? What is the genre of the book? What makes you say so? Cite evidences. In light of the genre, what questions should you ask? What questions should you not ask? In light of its genre, what is the book all about? In other words, what is the purpose of the book?
The book is generally about the unrelenting faith of one man for God, and that no matter how much he was punished, Job felt annoyed and angry at God, but at the remained stayed faithful. Throughout his whole life, faith was one thing remained within him. The book of job generally represents that suffering can befall even the most religious of men. The genre of this book is that of poetry. It provides a glimpse of the wonderful message of God and hope. Some questions would be: What is Job trying to depict? What does he want? What does he mean?
