com or (775) 843-1283 Kate Marshall Announces Early Endorsements Labor and First Responders Get Behind Kates Campaign for Secretary of State Reno, NV--Today, Kate Marshall is proud to announce two early endorsements for her campaign for Nevada Secretary of State. In a rare early move, the Northern Nevada Building and Trades Council has endorsed Kate Marshall. Breaking with our normal practices the Council last Thursday made the decision to step out early, said Paul McKenzie, Secretary Treasurer of the Northern Nevada Building & Construction Trades Council, who noted Kates solid record of supporting working families and their belief that she is the best candidate for the position of Secretary of State. The Council represents the interests of Northern Nevada's construction workers. Additionally, the Las Vegas Police Protective Association Metro Inc. Board of Directors endorsed Marshall, citing her strong commitment, community involvement and dedication to the residents of the community. The organization represents 3,200 Police and Corrections Officers and the Las Vegas Municipal Court and Deputy City Marshals. As Secretary of State, just as Ive done as Treasurer, my commitment every day will be to the middle class families of Nevada and I will always work tirelessly for them. Marshall, who has served Nevada as State Treasurer since 2006, has twice been successfully elected statewide. She has been widely credited for saving taxpayer money by uncovering and eliminating no bid contracts and off the book accounts that were draining the states economy.

Prior to being elected Treasurer, Marshall served in the U.S. Department of Justice Antitrust Division where she received the Antitrust Divisions Outstanding Contribution Award and was the last ever recipient. Marshall then served as the Senior Deputy Attorney General for Nevada, working to prevent price gouging at the gas pump, and protecting Nevada small businesses. Kate Marshall became Nevadas 22nd State Treasurer in 2006. Marshall, a mother of two daughters, resides in Reno Nevada and has lived there since 1997.
