To Whom It May Concern: It is my pleasure to be writing this letter of support for Mr. Gary Torngren. Gary is the Senior Budget Analyst for the Academic Affairs Division of the University and he reports directly to the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs. Since Garys arrival at the University in 2010, I continue to be amazed at his level of professionalism and his leadership skills. He not only oversees the entire budget for Academic Affairs, a critical function for the University, but he makes sure that each College receives timely updates on any changing budget-related issues. He enthusiastically provides expertise on systems and processes for Colleges, Athletics, the Library, International Studies, and Extended Education. Gary has also been very instrumental in the Universitys initiative to conduct a holistic review of its programs. He has provided data and analysis for the holistic review and he continues to offer his expertise relating to the development of data systems and lean processes. He is respected and trusted by his colleagues. I highly recommend Gary for any position that requires extensive experience in accounting, budgeting, analysis, forecasting, systems, and team-building. He has made a significant and positive difference for all of us here at CSU Stanislaus.
