FAQs
Can my children play together on the same team? Siblings who live in the same household and play in the same age division will always be placed on the same team. Children are allowed to play-up one division (play in a division above their age group), however they are not allowed to play-down. May I request that my child be placed with the same coach as last year? Or on the same team as a friend? Requests are taken at registration, but are not guaranteed. During the player draft, coaches will be notified of all requests. Our goal is to have balanced teams, for that reason coaches are not required to honor these requests. Our department facilitates recreation-based sports activities where emphasis is placed on children having fun, meeting new people, and experiencing different coaching styles. When is practice? Indoor Soccer Practices are held 30 minutes prior to the game Time. Baseball Practices are held on weekdays, with start Times usually from 5-8 pm. Each team typically practices once per week, with practices lasting one hour. Practices are determined by the coaches, after the player draft. Schedules may vary depending on the coaches availability. Coaches will notify parents of practice Times and locations. When are games? Game schedules are not made until registration is complete. Specific game Times are dependent on the number of teams in each division. Parents are notified of game Times by their childs coach. Indoor Soccer: Games are held on Saturdays, between 8:30 am-4:30 pm. Baseball: Each team will play 1-2 games per week. The Tee Ball and Coach Pitch divisions play games on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday evening at Peterson Park. The AA and AAA divisions play games on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday evenings as well as Saturday mornings at Heritage Park. Can I register over the phone? We offer three convenient ways to register: You may walk in your registration to the Diamond Bar Center, mail it to City of Diamond Bar, Attn: Youth Sports, 21825 Copley Drive, Diamond Bar, CA 91765 or fax to 909.612.4580. You must use a youth sports registration form. The registration forms are available on the Citys website and can be picked up at the Diamond Bar Center or City Hall. Registration must include payment, a signed waiver, a signed parents code of ethics and age verification (for first Time participants only). Who are the coaches? Our program is supported by parent volunteers. If you are interested in coaching or assistant coaching please notify staff at 909.839.7073.
