School/Home Connection and Communication Grades are updated in Aeries weekly and homework assignments are posted daily via my twitter account. I am also using Remind 101 to post important updates for my classes and I encourage students and Parents to sign up for this free and valuable resource. Parents and students are also encouraged to regularly check Aeries to monitor grades, missing assignments, etc.. If you have any questions, concerns, etc., please use email and/or telephone to contact me. As I am often with students in my classroom during breaks, lunch, etc., it is quickest for me to respond/contact parents via email. If I am teaching or in a meeting and unable to immediately get to your email or phone call, I will get back to you within 24-48 hours.

Discipline Policy If a students behavior interferes with the classroom learning environment, he/she may be assigned a class detention. If a student is assigned a class detention, he/she will be given a slip that instructs when and where to report for the detention. If the student fails to serve the detention as assigned, it will be rescheduled and contact with the parent(s)/guardian(s) of the student will be made. If the student fails to report for the rescheduled detention, a referral will be sent to the office for further consequences. If a students behavior is so disruptive that he/she is directed to leave the classroom, the student will be sent to the office with a referral.

Tardy Policy Students that are not in their assigned seat at the bell signaling the start of class are considered tardy. Tardies are updated daily in Aeries and will be assigned the following consequences: 1st and 2nd Tardy: Teacher Warnings 3rd, 4th, and 5th Tardy: Class Detention and Parental Contact 6th Tardy and Beyond: Administrative Referral and Parental Contact

Cell Phone/Electronic Devices Policy Cell Phones/Electronic devices are not to be visible and/or used in class. Students that are observed with their device out during class will need to give the device to the teacher/assistant for the remainder of the class period. The student will receive the device back at the end of the period. If the student refuses to hand over the device when requested, he/she will be sent to the office with a referral. If the student violates the policy a third time and beyond, the device will be sent to the office with a referral and they will need to pick up their device at the end of the school day.

Eating/Drinking Policy No food or drinks other than water are allowed in the classroom. Students that have food or drinks out will be asked to put them away. Disciplinary action may be taken for continued violation of this policy.

If you do not have an Aeries account, you need to visit the main office to get your access code. There is also a handout in the office to assist you in setting up your accounts.
