6 September 2013 LATE RALLY FOR RUDD A LATE rally for the ALP has seen its odds

firm from $11 to $10 to win tomorrows Federal Election. After a month of one-way betting traffic for the Coalition, a $1500 bet at $11 on the ALP started a slight swing back towards the outsider. The longest price the Coalition touched was $1.42 just before Kevin Rudd returned as the ALP leader, but the Coalition continued to shorten until this late move for the ALP, TABs Adam Hamilton. The ALP got in as short as $1.03 this week, but some of our punters thought the $11 ALP was simply too generous. Against that, tab.com.au did take another $9000 bet at $1.05 on the Coalition this morning. Other big bets on the Coalition include: $10,000 at $1.28 on August 9 $5000 at $1.40 on February 6 $9800 at $1.30 on January 31 $4166 at $1.36 on January 31

When tab.com.au opened Federal Election betting on November 11, 2011, the Coalition was $1.30 and the ALP ($3). The shortest the ALP reached was $2.80 on July 19. Betting on some of the key seats has been turbulent, including: FORDE (Qld): Former Queensland Premier Peter Beattie was as short as $1.30 to win the seat before drifting to $6 this week. The Coalition is now $1.10. MELBOURNE (Vic): Support is coming for sitting member Adam Brandt, who created history by becoming the first member of the Greens Party to acquire a seat in the HOR in a general election. Brandt drifted to as long as $4.40, but has firmed to $2.60. the ALP is $1.45 to win the seat. LILLEY (Qld): The heat is right on sitting member Wayne Swan, the former Treasurer. Swans ALP drifted from $1.55 to $2.80 before tightening to $2.35. He is still an outsider with the Coalition at $1.55 to win the seat.
