Rearranging the basis states - Change the matrix from BANDED SHAPE to BLOCK-matrix shape ( zero blocks and blocks of non-zeros on diagonal)

Diagonalize a matrix which has zeros everywhere except in some submatrices - blocks - placed along the diagonal. The picture shows how this can be done by diagonalizing each submatrix independently. Thus the subspaces are INDEPENDENT.
