NATURE OF LANGUAGE
TARGET.- to master Phonological Units (phonems) Grammatical Units (morphems, phrases, sentences) Grammatical operations (adding, shifting, joing, or transforming elements) Lexical Units (functional words and structure words)
Syntax.- is the study of the relationship between linguistic forms. Semantics.- is the study of the realtionship between linguistic forms and entities in the world Pragmatics.- is the study of the relationship between linguistic forms and the users of those forms.
Language is more than the transmition of information or meaning (Locutionary act) since it also express an intention (illocutionary act) and produces an effect on the listener (prelocutionary act)
