Wing Veins Abdomen and thorax
Antenna: one of the jointed, movable, sensory appendages occurring in pairs on Thorax: the portion of the body between the head and the Abdomen. Proboscis: Also called beak. The elongate, protruding mouth parts of certain
insects, adapted for sucking or piercing.
Head: The portion of the body above the Thorax. Abdomen: the posterior section of the body of an insect and most other
arthropods.
Forewing: either of the anterior and usually smaller pair of wings of an insect
having four wings.
Hind Wing: The second posterior or metathoracic wings of an insect. Wing Veins: The veins on the wings of an insect. Compound Eye: an arthropod eye subdivided into many individual, lightreceptive elements, each including a lens, a transmitting apparatus, and retinal cells.
