Vision and Mission Statement Greetings Kingsway! Welcome to the 2013-2014 school year. I am very thankful that you have decided to participate in our musical community! I hope this experience will not only be beneficial to your educational career here at Kingsway Christian School but also very enjoyable as well.

During this upcoming school year, we will certainly grow as musicians and individuals through the development of musicality and character. We will also be challenged to grow in our faith walk and to continue to pursue the glorious king Jesus Christ. I expect this year to be another success and am looking forward to facilitating YOUR program this coming year! This program was built on the hard work of students, therefore I expect the drive to succeed to be evermore present in this coming school year. Please review the following handbook with your parents so we are all aware of concert dates and expectations. Facilities and Equipment Kingsway Christian school is not responsible for stolen or damaged instruments that are owned, rented or borrowed by other students. Parents may wish to insure their students instrument under their homeowners or renters insurance policy. Students must take proper care of their instruments, including not leaving them in different classrooms, busses and hallways or not put away within the music room. Only percussion students are permitted to play, touch, or move percussion instruments. Choir risers are not to be jumped on or abused in any way. The donated, electric piano is not to be touched unless instructed by Mr. Gernovich. Choir folders are also to be treated with care and not to be thrown or abused.

School Owned Instruments Kingsway can provide a few instruments for students to use on a regular basis. There is a $25.00 per year service fee for any student that wishes to use the school owned instruments. All school owned instruments must be signed out by the director or designated music officer. Students must take excellent care of school owned instruments in their possession. It is the responsibility of the student to notify the director of any damage. Students can and will be held responsible for any damage from horseplay or negligence. In these circumstances, cost of repair will rest solely with the student and his/her parents. At the end of the year, all instruments must be checked in. Reeds and slide grease, and valve oil are not provided.

Instrument Requirements I expect that all students have instruments in good and working condition. All woodwind players should always have at least 3 spare reeds. Brass students should have valve oil and slide grease/cream available. All slides should function on brass instruments without any hesitation. We want to respect what God has given us. If any instrument becomes damaged, always take it

to a music store with an in house repair shop. These stores have the fastest services and generally do the best work. ------------------------------------------------------------Cut Here----------------------------------------------------This page is due no later than October 1st, 2013
