Shoulder Dislocation

Causes: Falling is the most common cause of a new shoulder dislocation. Dislocation can also occur when the arm is forcibly moved into an awkward position Dancers with this injury may notice it becomes easier to sublux or dislocate the joint again and again. Treatment: The joint will usually relocate without much assistance A sling and restricted activity for several weeks Physical therapy routine

Rotator Cuff Tears
"I cant raise my arm overhead.
Causes: Rotator cuff tears are most often the result of a forceful injury, such as falling with an extended arm. It is quite painful and disabling Significant difficulty or inability to raise the arm above the head Treatment Partial tears will need a rehabilitation program Full ruptures will most likely need surgery

Acromioclavicular Joint Sprain
"I fell on the top of my shoulder.
Causes: Injuries to this joint are usually the result of a direct force to the tip of the shoulder, or by falling onto the shoulder. The ligament between the acromion and the clavicle will be torn, either partially or completely. Treatment: Ice and Rest Sling or clavicle brace to support the joint Physical therapy program

Wrist Dislocation
I fell on an outstretched arm.
Causes: Falling on an outstretched arm A dislocation usually involves the displacement of the lunate bone of the wrist Treatment: Doctor will need to reposition the bones Recurring dislocations may require surgery
