Preparation:
This surface comes ready to paint, no prep is necessary. Any slight imperfections can be lightly sanded. Wipe with a damp cloth. The snow on the base will remain the white of the resin, oat shade Sapphire into the shaded areas and randomly dry brush a light application of Spice Pink onto the snow to highlight. 1

Painting Instructions:
Santa: Face: Base the face with Hi-Lite Flesh, oat shade with Shading Flesh and dry brush highlight with Light Buttermilk and using a circular motion dry brush the cheeks with Spice Pink. Dont forget to paint Santas lip under the mustache using the same paint colors listed above. Base the eyeballs with Snow White, using a very small ne tipped brush tap in the eye color with Sapphire and the pupil with Lamp Black, dip dot the highlight in the eye with Snow White. Paint the eyebrows with Snow White. Coat and Hat: Base Santas coat and hat with Santa Red and oat shade with Napa Red and deepen with Black Plum. Continue to deepen the shadow by dry brushing Black Plum into the shaded areas and dry brush additional shadows using Napa Red. Dry brush highlight with Spice Pink and deepen the highlight by dry brushing Hot Shots Fiery Red over the highlighted areas. Trim on the Hat and Coat: The trim will remain the white of the resin. Thin Dark Chocolate down to a transparent consistency and wash into the shaded area of the trim, using the same technique wash Asphaltum to deepen the shaded areas. Mop these areas as you go to soften the look of the paint. Dry brush Snow White to highlight the trim. Beard: The beard will remain the white of the resin, thin Neutral Grey down to a transparent consistency and wash into the folds of the beard, mopping to soften. Dry brush a highlight of Snow White onto the beard. Shirt: Base the shirt with Light Buttermilk, oat shade with Honey Brown, and dry brush highlight with Snow White. Base the buttons with Honey Brown and dry brush highlight with Light Buttermilk. Pants: Base the pants and belt loops with Hauser Dark Green, dry brush highlight with Hauser Medium Green, and dry brush highlight the higher spots with Olive Green. Base the belt with Lamp Black. 2

Base the buckle with Moon Yellow and go over the buckle with Dazzling Metallic Splendid Gold. Gloves: Base the gloves with Hauser Dark Green, dry brush highlight with Medium Hauser Green and deepen the dry brush highlight with Olive Green. Boots: Base the boots with Lamp Black, dry brush highlight with Neutral Grey. Base the buckle with Moon Yellow and wash Dazzling Metallic Splendid Gold over the buckle and base the straps with Santa Red. Bell: Base the bell with Moon Yellow, oat shade with Honey Brown and base the stripe around the bell with Santa Red. Wash Dazzling Metallic Splendid Gold over the highlighted areas of the bell. Santas Bag: Bag: Base the bag with Honey Brown, shade with Milk Chocolate and deepen the shadow with Dark Chocolate. Dry brush highlight with Light Buttermilk. Base the cord with Moon Yellow and go over it again with Dazzling Metallic Splendid Gold. Bear: Base the bear with Milk Chocolate, shade with Dark Chocolate and deepen with Asphaltum. Dry brush highlight with Light Buttermilk and deepen with Snow White. Base between the claws, eyes, nose and mouth with Lamp Black and dip dot the eyes and nose with Snow White. Dry brush the cheeks with Spice Pink. Ball: Base the ball with Tangerine, shade with Tangelo Orange, dry brush highlight with Moon Yellow. Tree: Base the tree with Hauser Medium Green, shade with Hauser Dark Green, and highlight with Olive Green and deepen the highlight with Hot Shots Thermal Green. Star: Base with Moon Yellow and wash Dazzling Metallic Splendid Gold over the star. Package: Base the package with Napa Red and the ribbon with Spice Pink. Lamp Post: Lamp Post: Base the main part of the lamp post with Lamp Black and dry brush with Neutral Grey. Base the bands around the post with Neutral Grey, dry brush highlight with a thin application of Snow White. Base the lantern with Moon Yellow and wash Dazzling Metallic Splendid Gold. Note in the photo the parts of the lantern that were painted. Wreath: Base the wreath with Hauser Dark Green, dry brush highlight with Hauser Medium Green and 3

Olive Green. Deepen with Hot Shots Thermal Green. Base the bow with Santa Red, shade with Napa Red and deepen with Black Plum. Dry brush highlight with Spice Pink. List: The list will remain the white of the resin. Thin Asphaltum down to a thin transparent consistency and wash over the writing indentations on the parchment and mop to soften. This is actually a very random application; some areas will be darker while others will be lighter. Thin Honey Brown down to a thin transparent consistency and wash into the shaded areas of the list mopping to soften. Family names could be added to the list with Lamp Black.

Finishing:
Finish with several light coats of DecoArt Acrylic Spray Sealer/Finisher Matte.
