PREPARATION:
Note: Refer to the color photo for shading and detail placement.

• Basecoat the entire surface with Gesso. Let dry. Gently sand.
• Brush on random patches of Cobalt Teal Hue and Quinacridone Magenta. (Do not overlap.)
• Brush on patches if Titanium White over the uncovered spaces.
• While still wet, roll over the paints with the brayer to lightly blend and soften.
• Let Dry.
• Load the Décor Cling DREAM Stamp with Titanium White and stamp the background. This does not need to
be perfect. Note: The stamp comes with a plastic sheet, I use this to cover areas that I have already stamped
when doing large backgrounds.
• Let dry.
• Sand lightly to smooth the surface a little but if desired.
• Paint the top, bottom and the sides of the board with Titan Buff.
• Trace on the pattern.
• Shade around the design with Prussian Blue Hue.

touch of Titanium White (makes a nice pink).
• Shade with Quinacridone Red.
• Highlight with Titanium White.
• Deepen the shading with floats of Quinacridone Red.
• Brighten highlights with a float of Titanium White.
• Line and dot the hat with Titanium White.
• Base the bow with the #2 Round brush loaded with
Titanium White tipped in Cobalt Teal Hue. Float in
shading with Cobalt Teal Hue.
• Pink Bow: Same as Pink Hat.

Tag and Scallops:


• Trace on and cut out from an old dictionary page.
• Adhere in place with the Matte Medium.
• Base with a wash on Titan Buff. Shade with soft
floats of Raw Sienna. Highlight with floats of
Titanium White.
• Line the lettering and the string with Carbon Black.

FINISHING:
• Outline as desired with Carbon Black.
