We are a team of thinkers and innovators aimed at shaping the world of technology through biometrics, authentication technology, and our concept of the identity. We strive to push the boundaries on consumer electronics, and wearable technology through our vast experience with biometrics. We were officially founded in 2011, and were part of the inaugural cohort of the Creative Destruction Lab in 2012/2013 at the University of Toronto. Our growing team pulls from biometrics, engineering, development, business, and communications to create a much-needed product that addresses identity in the digital world. While we specialize in biometrics and authentication technology for consumer electronics, we also develop technology that uniquely utilizes gesture control, proximity detection and application development.

The Nymi
Weve noticed the increase of important and sensitive information online, now accessible through smartphones. Weve been harassed by the endless stream of prompts, passwords, PINs and locks. Weve lost our identities to the endless stream of numbers and logins. Well, weve found a better solution that both heightens personal security and allows a user to take back their identity. Weve solved it with a heartbeat. The Nymi uses your unique electrocardiogram (ECG) to authenticate your identity through an embedded sensor. It then uses Bluetooth Low Energy to communicate your identity to all of your devices, bypassing any verification obstacles. Its a personalized solution that allows you to access the technology you love on your terms. The Nymi also has motion sensing and proximity detection that allows users to perform remote, gesture-specific commands, creating a dynamic and interactive environment. A simple twist of the wrist can unlock your car door.

The Future
The potential for something like the Nymi, a device that can interact with technology with identity, motion, and proximity, is endless. We are looking for enthusiastic developers to join our growing community. Our plan is to work with these developers to revolutionize everything from gaming, to banking, to social! Were ushering in an era of interactive identity!
