Wilson Expectations: I had the opportunity to be placed in previous schools to observe a classroom community, so I suppose I have some experience. Yet, there are some things that I wonder about or expect when I enter a new school or environment in general Im not familiar with. I think about the kind of people that work there like the staff, administration, and teachers. I think about the students and what kind of students are they. The demographic of the school and its variety in culture as well as where the school is located. I even wonder about the actual size of the establishment, does the school have a big campus or small, does it have a field or none at all. Does the school have open spaces or are the rooms crowed and cramped? I also think about how my experience in the school would be, would I fit in or feel out of place. Will get something out of it or will I get a better understanding of what its actually like out in a real classroom. When comes to the staff, administration, and teachers, I expect the usual. Like the teacher is attentive to their students and have an interactive, engaging classroom. I also expect to see good teacher-student relationship. I also expect the teacher to build a community with their students rather than a lecture/direct environment. Administrators showing that they want to be involve with the different classrooms and that they have good management of the people and overall school. As for students, I expect them to be motivated, interactive, and social. I also expect to be respectful with each other and their teachers as well as have responsibility and have the drive to learn. But overall, Im excited to go back out on the field to experience first-hand an actual classroom myself.
