Maths Test Correction 8th Grade

Level 1-2 Reflection: For level 1-2, I managed to answer all of the questions correctly. They
were all really simple; therefore I scored 14 out of 14.

Level 3-4 3d) Incorrect Answer: 6:15 Correct Answer: 2:5 Reflection: I didnt get the correct answer because I forgot to simplify my answer

further. I did the first step right, which was to multiply both sides by 10 (to get an integer), and therefore I got 6:15. I got confused, and instead of simplifying them further by 3, I stopped. Next time, I will pay more attention to the question, and make sure that my answer is in the simplest form possible.

Level 5-6 5b) Incorrect Answer: -2 Correct Answer: 70 Reflection: I got mixed up and instead of writing s=4, I wrote s=-2. I did the

correct procedure, but as I got a number mixed up, the whole expression ended up wrong. Next time I will pay more attention to the letter values to prevent this from happening again, and double check my work closely.

5c) Incorrect Answer: 3 Correct Answer: 0 Reflection: I got the answer 3 instead of 0 because of a silly mistake at the last

step of evaluating the expression. I did the first two steps right, but at the last step I wrote that 3x0 is equal to 3, while its actually equal to 0. This mistake was really silly and should not be repeated. Next time I must also double check my work closely.

Level 7-8 7) Incorrect Answer: (18m3)/(-8m) Correct Answer: -2.25m2 Reflection: Again, I did the two first steps correctly, but didnt simplify my answer.

I thought that I couldnt simplify any further because m3 and m are not like terms. But I had totally forgotten that that rule only applies to addition and subtraction. So if I take my test answer and simplify it, I will get -2.25m2. Next time I will try to memorize my +/-, x/division rules better.
