Human Resources Manager, Raytheon FROM: Ravi Momaya, Intern RE: Request for Funding to Attend ASME 2013 International Mechanical Engineering Congress & Exposition DATE: March 11, 2013 Im writing to seek funding to attend the ASME 2012 International Mechanical Engineering Congress & Exposition, November 15-21 in San Diego CA. This is an opportunity to discover the latest technologies, best practices, products and services that will enhance my day to day decisions and performance on the job here at Raytheon. This conference is hosted by the association for American Society of Mechanical Engineers, one of the worlds largest engineering societies. They promote the art science and safety for all humans that deal with technology worldwide. This conference has a large portion devoted to the advances in aerospace technology that directly relate to the jets that Raytheon may create. Many sessions will deal with aerodynamics, propulsion systems, unmanned aerial vehicles, and aerospace safety and risk management. The full program agenda and information brochure for this conference is attached. By registering for the ASME International Mechanical Engineering Congress & Exposition, I will be able to learn about new advances that we may use in our military grade planes. I will then be able to either verify or help alter designs for efficiency and ensure our planes are superior to others. I would be grateful if you would consider supporting either part or the full expense of my attendance. I feel my attendance is especially important given Raytheons focus on maintaining its a top tier defense contractor title. This conference will ensure Raytheon does not look over anything, or learns something new from the conference.
