Ellis Island

Ellis Island is a door for the immigrants who immigrated it was a small island between New York and Jersey City. It was opened in 1 january 1892 and it was closed in 12 november 1954.Now a museum. For reach to the island, people had to take boats and in the boats there was first class, second class, third class and fourth class: on the deck the more affluent and in the chip's hold the most poorests. Arriving they had medicals tests (test of the six seconds) the personn who was ill was send in his country. they were also ascked a chain of 29 questions and they register in the list of passage. During 62 years,12 millions of immigrants passed by Ellis Island and only 2% were refused in America; most of them came from Europe. Ellis Island was called: The island of tears and heartbreack island because of this 2 %.
