Multiplying Integers 1. Always start at 0. 2. The first number tells you the direction you need to face. For example: If the first number is a positive you face the positives. If the first number is negative you face the negatives. 3. The second number tells you which direction to move. For example: If the second number is positive you move forward. If the second number is negative you move backward. 4. The first number tells you how many groups of the second number to jump. Lets try it (-3) 2 = So 1. 2. 3. 4. Start at 0. Face the Negatives because the first number is -3. Move forward because the second number is a positive 2. Move 3 groups of 2.

Therefore: -3 2 = -6
