Reading and Language Arts iPad o For many students who struggle to read at grade level, reading becomes a chore, a fight, and a struggle. But with an iPad in their hands, struggling readers can take charge of their interaction with books, tapping on words to hear them read aloud, choosing books that they want to read, and reading independently without help from an adult. o iTooch is a great app for 6th graders. It is available at https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/itoochlanguage-arts-grade/id521723371?mt=8&ign-mpt=uo%3D4 Smart Board o Remember having to fill out those boring grammar worksheets? Here is a Smart Board solution: Find an example of a celebrity's quote that has grammatical errors, pull this up on the Smart Board, and let students correct the celebrity's grammar! o You can have a sentence on the board, and let students come up and correct it with the pen. This allows students to get up from their desk as well. o Also, you can also have words on the board and students can move them under a t-chart that has something like NOUN/VERB on it. You can have students move the correct words under the chart. This could be a comprehension check. Projector o Whole class participate in practice test o Going over tests Isolate new vocabulary o Show and Tell o Current Events o Highlighted good vs. bad grammar in writing o Showing selected DVDs or Videos o Creative writing add a line o Storyboarding o Read-aloud o Mapping and group editing White board o The whiteboard is a back-up in case of a technology failure. Elmo o The Elmo is a tool to magnify the object to the class. It will Provide more interest to students. Arts and Music iPad o Using an iPad, students can see the famous drawings from the web and listen the famous recording from the iTunes easily and quickly. Using a stylus with the iPad will allow for notating music and creating other forms of art. Smart Board o The Smart Board allows us to write, highlight, show, and study in the class for the various visual and kinesthetic lesson. Sound System o The sound system will allow for the teacher and students to listen to music, amplify performers, and record music. Musical Instruments o The students will need various instruments to create music.

Science:

Smart Boards o Smart Boards would be used to give students a visual representation of material covered in class. iPad o Students will use their iPads to research information on different science related topics that are being discussed in class. Various Lab Equipment o This will be used as the curriculum calls for it in order to enrich the students learning. Physical Education: Smart Board o The Smart Board will be used to display information and various types of media that relate to the different sports or activities the students will be taking part in. An example would be an interactive presentation on the proper running techniques. Whiteboard o The whiteboard will be used as the primary back-up to the Smart Board in case of technical difficulties and will be used in the same manner. Sound System o The sound system will be used for rhythmic activities to include musical accompaniment. Wii o The Wii has many games that encourage physical movement for the students. Games such as Wii Fit will be most useful. Health: Smart Board o Smart Board will be used too give students a visual representation of information as well as media that relates to the content of the lesson covered in class. White board o The white board will serve as the primary backup to the Smart Board and will be used in the same manner. iPads o Students will use their iPads to research health related information that related to the content of the lesson taught in class. Math iPads o iPads will be used to complete class work, answer question posed by the teacher in class, use calculator apps to assist in work, reference the textbook materials, graph problems that needs to be graphed, research material for projects, and homework. Smart Boards o Smart Boards will be used for presentations using PowerPoint, lecture aids through visuals and diagrams, class work for demonstration in front of peers, and videos to assist with instruction. Elmo o The Elmo will present written work for the class and display visual aids for demonstration with instruction. White Board o The white board will be an instruction medium if problem with Smart boards. History iPads o iPads will be used to complete class work, answer question posed by the teacher in class, use apps to assist in work, reference the textbook materials, access additional materials specific to history during class, research material for projects, and homework. o This will be used for presentations by PowerPoint, lecture aids through visuals and diagrams, class work for demonstration in front of peers, and videos to assist with instruction, how demographics in various forms. Elmos o The Elmo will help in presenting written work and visual aids to assist the class. White Board o Back up for Smart board and Elmos Special needs/ accommodations** iPads for every student and faculty o iPads provide many accessibility options such as text to speech and zoom. The iPad can also be used to download games that are strategically engineered to help students with special needs learn and accomplish various tasks. Smart Boardo Smart Boards provide endless possibilities for students. It provides a hand-on experience for students. It is also a way for teachers to largely project information. Intercom o The intercom system is invaluable when it comes to conveying information from the office to the different buildings and classrooms on campus. Trekker Breeze o Trekker Breeze is a talking GPS for blind or low vision people. This tool can be useful to help students gain independence on large campuses or on field trips. Braille Keyboards o Braille Keyboards, along with text to speech software, allows for students with vision impairments to use computers. The teacher will be able to have to students do mostly the same things as the students who can see well. Phonic ears o Phonic Ears is a device an assistive listening system. It allows for teachers to be fitted with a microphone and the students to have a listening device to assist in hearing. ** All of these technologies will change depending on the kind of students that attend the school. There are many different technologies that are specific to different disabilities.
