to students.

1. Task Definition
The History Channel creating a series on notable historical figures from the various continents. They
have completed South America and Europe. The next three episodes will be notable historical people
from Africa, Asia, and Australia. Your team has been hired to write the script for one episode and give
the producers ideas about the production. You must decide which modern day actor or actress will best
portray the historical individual. You must decide on three notable persons from the history of the
continent and discuss the impact they had on the past and present societies. The episode must not be
more than one hour. You may each choose to research one individual, then collaborate on how the
episode will be filmed.

2. Information Seeking Strategies


Use library books, subscription databases, and web sites.

3. Location & Access


Use search features on library catalog and databases that you find on
TexShare. Use linked sites and Google (must submit web site evaluation for
sites you find on your own)

4. Use of Information
Take notes, summarize as necessary, evaluate web sites you find on your
own

5. Synthesis
Each person in the group writes a script detailing his or her research findings
and the impact the individual had on past and present societies. Each group
will present to the movie’s producer its findings and its ideas for the movie’s
production, including its recommendation about the actor/actress that should
be cast.

6. Evaluation
Compare your product and process to the grading rubric. Each of you will
complete a written self-evaluation of the process.
