HVAC CAREERS There are many different types of jobs that a person going for a hvac degree can have. People with a degree in hvac can choose what type of job they desire to do weather its pipefitting, sheet metal work, or plumbing. There will always be a need for hvac trained people because of the services they provide we all need heat or cooling weather its food products or home from industrial and commercial to just keeping your house cool in the summer and warm in the winter. Hvac work performed by worker Hvac worker performs many duties everything from installing ac units to heaters also doing electrical work and pipe fitting. Heating and ac work is performed on new units and also fixing broken units. Hvac employees are put on call must be willing to be called out at all hours of the day and night including weekends. Hvac employees work in a variety of places from new homes to hospitals to commercial and large scale industries. There are a variety of different jobs that a person can do involving hvac each field has its own specialized schooling for and hvac which will be working on pipe fitting or metal fabrication there is different schooling also there is different schooling for heating and commercial cooling systems. In the summer when heaters are not in use most of the time the hvac employee will either work on repairing broken units or doing routine matiance on the heating units? They also pix ac units making sure that the gasses are contained and leaks are fixed then replacing the cooling in the unit making sure that everything is functioning correctly and that no gasses escape into the atmosphere. Hvac employees can get there diploma in residential heating and ac in one year of schooling the worker must take classes from basic electricity to sheet metal fabrication also basic refrigeration to basic heating systems. The employee must have knowledge of how to read blue prints and be able to use power tools from drills torches and many hand tools. After 2 years of schooling one can receive and AAS Degree and be able to work on more verities including commercial and industrial types of equipment. Employment growth outlook Employment for Hvac is ever growing in every state that I examined there is a future growth and in some cases to be at least a 75% increase in jobs just by the year 2018. Even in an economy that is in a recession appears to be an ever growing job market for this type of work. Unlike a lot of other industries hvac will continue to be a major job market from now into the future. Even with slowing of commercial and housing markets existing housing and commercial properties need constant mataince and repairs so there will always be steady growth and jobs to do for hvac employment. Once I am certified in hvac I will be able to move throughout the United States with little or no new training to be able to work in the state that I move to. The wages differ greatly in many cases from state to state but along with higher wages will come higher expenses in the state or towns that I choose to locate to. So it seems that getting a degree in Hvac will be a great opportunity and will be a great choice for a long term job and stable work for me to provide for the well being of me and my children I am excited to know that I feel Ive made the right choice for choosing the Hvac program.
