FREE Parent Workshop

For families with children ages 0-8

Tuesday, November 12, 2013 6:30-8:00 PM

Why is it so important for children to develop strong literacy skills? Children need strong literacy skills in order to succeed in school and throughout life. All families have strengths they can draw upon to foster their childrens literacy. From the day children are born, parents and family members can begin to support literacy development by incorporating some simple and fun strategies into daily family life. Participants will learn about the Building Blocks of Reading and how to use them to build and strengthen reading skills through increased family communication, books, songs & games, storytelling, sharing family stories and poems.
