Declaration Of Independence from Homework

I. The students of America must take action against such a vial thing as homework. Students desire to do other things with their life rather than be homebound doing schoolwork all the time. Students must demand all ties to homework be broken. II. Today, Homework binds us to the unhealthy lifestyle of sitting behind a desk, not exercising. Tempted to eat junk food so we can quickly return to our studies. Students should have the right to freedom after a seemingly endless eight hours of school. If we had more time, we could engage in after school activities and do more for our communities. Instead, we must come home and neglect our personal lives to do homework. People say homework leads to higher grades, but more people would study without homework draining them. A law must be passed that bans all homework over once per week. III. Homework is awful, depriving students of a social life. Homework is mentally draining, because it never has anything to do with what youre actually learning. Homework is torture, making students sit in front of a computer screen, NOT searching social networking sites. Homework physically drains students and destroys eyesight, essential for further education. IV. Students have complained for many years about the overload of homework to teachers and principals. No action has ever been taken to help the many suffering generations of students. V. Now, students must rebel and refuse to do any homework over one assignment per week. If we all stick together, something will be done. VI. Mallory ONeal
