Selection of lubrication system components like oil pumps, filters, centrifuge heaters, coolers, piping elements, warming systems and protection devices. 2. 3. Tribo-material selection for different types of wear. Modern methods for estimation of wear. Advanced Surface treatment techniques like ceramic coatings, plasma spray techniques, diffusion process for ferrous and non-ferrous materials, physical and chemical vapour deposition, oxy-fuel spraying. Modern trends in sintered materials. Modern techniques for surface analysis: scanning Electron Microscope, Auger Emission Spectroscopy, X-ray imaging, secondary selection imaging, back-scattered electron imaging, cathode luminescence imaging, electromotive force imaging. Development of bearings like steel backed bearings, bearings for vacuum applications, bearings for cryogenic applications and high temperature applications.
