1.

A 800 Ib homogeneous cylinder is supported by two rollers as shown in Fihure 1. Determine the forces exerted by the rollers on the cylinder. All surfaces are smooth.

2.

A curveed slender bar is loaded and supported as shown in Figure 2. Determine the reactions at at support A.

3.

The lawn mover shown in Figure 3 weighs 35 Ib. Determine the force P required to move the mover at a constant velocity and the forces exerted on the front and rear wheels by the inclined surface.

4. Determine the forces in members CD, CF and FG of the bridge truss as shown in Figure 4.

6. Determine the internal forces acting on section a-a in the bar rack shown in the diagram below. Each bar has a mass of 50 Kg

7.

The reaction between thr crutch and the ground is 35 Ib, as shown in the diagram below. Determine the internal forces acting on section a-a

8.

Determine the force P required to push the 115- Kg cylinder over the small block shown in the diagram below

9.

An axial load P is applied to a timber block as shown. Determine the normal and shear stress on the plane of the grain if P = 1500 Ib

10. The steel bar shown will be used to carry an axial tensile load of 400 KN. If the thickness of the bar is 45 mm, determine the normal and shearing stresses on the plane a-a
