PARENT GOVERNOR CANDIDATE BUNMI BAJELA

Mum to Kitan (6 Russia) I am standing for election as a Parent Governor because I believe that the make-up of parent governors must reflect the multicultural composition of Princess Frederica School. As a parent without a bias either way on the possible expansion of the school I come with the strength of an open mind and fresh eyes to lend my support to the governing body to reach a realistic and sensible decision - one that benefits not only the current pupils at the school but also the future pupils, after careful consideration of all the arguments for and against the expansion. My relationship with the school has always been one of mutual respect. This foundation will enable me to play my role of critical friend effectively in a non-confrontational or antagonistic manner but rather in a manner that challenges, supports and encourages the leadership of the school. With several years experience working in IT, having responsibility for budgetary control, business relationship, decision making and mentoring staff from different cultures and background (Asia, South Africa, Dubai and Europe), I have the skills and experience to improve relationship and work on future strategies. I work effectively as an individual and within a team for end-to-end delivery of projects. These and more will help deliver on objectives and agreed values to promote the best interest of the school and the education of its pupils. I enjoy family time with my children, travelling, baking and reading.
