General rules:

Sharemart is a virtual stock exchange. The game will be played in a number of sessions. News related to the companies or the economy will also flash from time to time. The maximum number of participants per team will be 2. All participants should give their bids in the bidding coupon.

How to play:

Each team will be given a fixed amount of virtual money, the amount will be declared at the venue. There are limited amount of shares for a particular company to trade with. The capacity of a team to buy or sell shares will be decided by current cash value with the team. Initially all the shares has to be purchased from the sharemart at the current price and the prices of the shares will vary as per the performance of the company. The performance of the company ill be flashed to all the students at the venue. The moment all the shares are sold from sharemart, the current price will be displayed which will be the last transaction price. The cash value will be deducted from the participant when he purchase the share and added when he sells the same. Every participant can check their portfolio at the counter at any time during the session. The team can sell or buy the number of shares at a price that should not exceed the price cap(x).

X will change from time to time. For example:- Suppose x=10 and the current price of a share of some particular company is Rs.100 then a team can buy/sell it at a price ranging from Rs. 90-110 only.

A settlement price will be calculated after each session which will be based on the weighted average of the transactions made in the session. Each of the shares will have to be sold before the end of the game otherwise it will be forcibly sold at the end of the game at the current price of the last session. In the end the participant possessing maximum cash value will be the winner.
