FORGIVENESS IS A WAY WE CAN ALTER THE PAST

Term Two So Far

Im looking forward to learning the drums and guitar in music. Annabel Our two new subjects are music and art, they have changed from 3D art and woodwork. Chelsea It has been fun while we have been here and from the first term to now I have met a lot of new friends. Parker I am enjoying music because the teacher is fun and inspirational. Maddie Its been fun. Music has been the best subject because the teacher is funny. Tristan The new subjects are really fun. Tess

Change of Electives
3D ART to ART.
I found 3d art better fun because we got to be creative and to what ever we wanted to do. In art we draw and shade. I find this not as fun because Im not good at that kind of stuff. The differences are that we went from paint and coloring in to shading with pencils. A lot of people agree with me but others like art better.

WOOD TO MUSIC
Wood I really enjoyed. I enjoyed making wooden boxes and then making our own design of a spice rack. It was even better because we had Mr Jackson as our teacher. Music is really good. Mr Dunstan is a really good teacher because his jokes are so funny. Also Im looking forward to playing the drums and guitar.

Homework Club
Homework club is running now on Mondays after school for year 7 and 8 students. It will run from 3:30pm 4:30pm and is a chance for any students to come and complete their homework. There will be two teachers in each session and this would allow for one-on-one time with teachers, the students are able to ask questions and have help with their schoolwork.
Please contact me if you have any more questions about this.

Leadership Day
Congratulations to our Class Captain and Arts Ambassador, Maggie Stewart and Delainie King, who completed a leadership course in the first week of school.

We all sat in rows at first and listened to the speaker, and he went over some rules for the day and they were really good rules that the day would be like a big discussion. We moved our chairs into a big circle so everyone could see each other, then at first we had to learn each others names. My favourite activity was when Dave said that money didn t matter and we could come up with the most crazy ideas for our school so we came up with a pool full of jelly, jetpacks, massive swimming pool etc. That was really fun. Delainie King It was really interesting and we learnt a lot of leadership skills like being creative and sometimes you need to think outside the box. Maggie Stewart

My Holidays
I had an AWESOME holiday. Thursday night was the night we left Echuca to go to Yarrawonga for a tennis tournament that we go to every year. We were there for about 6 days and played tennis for 3 of them. The first time I played I played kids singles and got thrashed, but I did not mind because I played the girl that won the grand final that day. The second day was Ladies C grade doubles and I played with my great auntie. We did not win but the games were close and we played for fun. The 3rd Day was C grade mixed doubles, I got to play with dad and we lost the first game. We got a second chance and Dad and I went really well. We one all our games and then won the grand finals. Dad and I both won $25. On the last day of the holidays we had a netball tournament in Wodonga. We had to leave at 5:00am to be there on time. We got to play 10 games and it was so fun. I was even lucky enough to be the captain for the 13 and under. Tess Teggelove

Literature Circles
This term Miss Aglinskas has introduced Literacy circles to 7P. Every week, all four or five people in one circle have to read up to a certain page in the book and are assigned a role. The role could be the discussion leader, vocabulary detective, summarizer, connection maker or the story sketcher. Each circle is required to read a certain book, every week we all go into our circles and share what we did for our roles with each other. The discussion leader has to keep the conversations moving along between each other and has to come up with four questions they could ask the group, for instance: Do you like Cats personality. The Vocabulary detective detects challenging words and shares them with the group whilst explaining the meaning of the word. The summarizer has to write a brief summary about what has happened so far in the book. The connection maker has to make connections with the book it could be with the characters, the setting or a similar theme to another book. The story sketcher has to draw a character, scene or anything in the book that they feel is important. Each week when the groups meet up, we all swap roles and share our findings the week later.
