Learning Story

Name: Edward Age: 5 & Lenny

Date: 11/9/13
Setting: Outside Time: 2.00pm

These days, boys were found of footy. They lined up and waited to get a change to get the footy. They played the footy nicely and did follow the rule of football.

Edward and Lenny went fast to get the footy while the other children were going there as well. They discussed about whose turn is next and player and footy things.

Edward got a turn to kick the footy and he kicked very well. Lenny looked at the footy being kicked away.

Lenny looked around to make himself know what is happening around him so he could find a best way to get the footy.

Interpretation of the Learning & Links with the EYLF Outcomes:


Lenny and Edward like playing the footy. They are developing their problem-solving skills by brainstorming the solutions, fine motor skills by getting the ball, gross motor skills by running around, social skills by working cooperatively with their peers, language skills by communicating and interacting with each other to win the game, and engaging in play in groups and experiencing different identities. What next?
Involve scores when playing footy. Encourage and inspire them to count how many scores they get. Ask them to practice writing players name from the footy cards that they brought in. read books in relation to the footy.
