Halloween Guidelines hese guidelines have been developed to allow students to participate in positive, enjoyable, and controlled activities,

while maintaining student safety. Students may not wear costumes to school. Ample time will be provided for students to change before the Parade. Costumes may not be demeaning to any ethnic group, race, religion, nationality, handicapping condition, gender (boys as girl and visa versa), or individual (staff or student) at the school. Costumes may not cause a significant disruption or distraction to the school program, i.e. no revealing costumes (French maids, nightwear, bathing suits, etc.). No props or equipment that are unsafe, or weapons, even replica weapons, are to be brought to school. No costumes are allowed that completely hide the identity of the student, i.e. gorilla suit, "Scream" character, etc. No costumes are allowed that would impair a student's vision or movement (ability to move quickly or climb stairs). Simple Masks may only be worn during the parade, as approved by the principal (vision & identity not obscured). All provisions regarding obscene materials or prohibited substances remain in effect. Inspect all treats given to your children before consumption. Please feel free to call us if you have any questions. If you do not want your child to participate in this or any other celebratory/holiday activities and events, please notify your teacher or Ms. Pennicooke in writing, prior to the event.
