CONCENTRATE ON BASICS AND LEARN HOW TO CALCULATE AREA AND VOLUME RATHER THAN MEMORIZING THEM

Cuboid : It is a rectangular solid. Lateral Surface Area = 2(l+b)h Total Surface Area = 2(lb + bh + lh) Volume = lbh Mean diagonal = Explanation: Lateral surface area = Sum of areas of lateral surfaces i.e. excluding the top and bottom of the box (cuboid) = Area of (ABDC + BDHF + FHGE + GEAC) = (lh + bh + lh + bh) = 2lh + 2bh = 2h(l+b) Total surface area = Sum of areas of all sides including the areas of top and bottom portions = Lateral surface area + Areas of (top +Bottom) = LSA + Areas of (ABFE + CDHF) = LSA + lb + lb = 2lh + 2bh + 2bl = 2(lb + bh + lh) Similarly, calculate the areas of other figures like cube, etc.
