WASSILY KANDENSKI Wassily Kandinsky was a Russian painter who was known for the first abstract paintings. He was born in Moscow; he spent his life in Odessa, Ukraine. He actually doesnt even have a degree in arts, but in law and economics. When he was successful in his profession he was offered a professorship, but then he enrolled in the University of Dropat to start his painting studies like real life sketching at the age of 30. He returned to Moscow in 1914 when the World War 1 occurred, and then to Germany in 1921, he taught at the Bauhaus school of art and architecture from 1922 until the Nazis closed it in 1933. He moved to France and stayed in there for the rest of his life; he became a French citizen in 1939, and then died naturally in 1944.
