INDIFFERENCE (OR THE END) Homeless? Cold? Hungry? Ill?

Yet He could be found daily, Sitting up high on a street corner, As if this World matter no more, Or did He know? I thought to speak up, But never made time To pull the silver coins So precious in my pocket. Did I say a prayer? Looking North, I saw an Ivory tower full of knowledge, Glancing at a Southerly direction: Riches unimaginable, food, water, wine On the West, a mighty Religious Institution, But my Dearest Lord Christ, The East displayed Hospitals built of Glass, Steel, and Science. One early Sunday morning I could only see a motionless body, Unmovable to the touch, Laid down on the street corner But closer to the garbage truck. And as I went past this saddest sight, I looked up to the skies with horror, For darkness seemed to devour all space, In each and every direction, As if a Black Hole fell upon the Earth! Our Lord God, Can you find it in your Heart to forgive? THE END
