LICENSE TROUBLE SHOOTING GUIDE For Network Programs using Disk ID for locking

Use the following guideline to resolve the problem when you get a License Not Found message. Your C ! program can be licensed to run on multiple computers so that several computers can share it. !n this case a computer networ" is re#uired so that all computers that are authori$ed to run the software are connected. % special program& the entinelL' license server, must be installed onto one or more computers in the networ" to coordinate the use of the C ! program. (he license server has access to the license codes for the program. )hen a program starts& it communicates with the license server to obtain a license. !n order for your networ"ed program to wor" properly the following * items must be true. +. (he entinelL' license server must be installed and running. ,. (he license server must recogni$e the license code for the C ! software. *. % client wor"station must be able to get a license from the license server. Item 1. Chec" that the entinelL' license server is installed and running. !f it is installed there should be an entry for entinelL' in %dd-.emove /rograms on the Control /anel. !f it is not installed please refer to the !nstallation !nstructions which are included with your software pac"age. You can also find the instructions in a .pdf file in the root directory of your C0. Ne1t chec" if the entinelL' license server is running. 2!t should be started automatically after installation and every time your computer is rebooted.3 4o to ervices in the Control /anel. (he location depends on which operating system you are using. Item 2. Chec" that the license server recogni$es the license code. (he installation C0@.A' of C ! software contains a *= day trial networ" license for one user. (his license is automatically copied when the software is installed but must be registered with the license server. (.efer to the !nstallation !nstructions for information on registering the license.3 (his allows immediate use of the program prior to obtaining a permanent license. (he trial license can be used on any computer acting as a server but it will only be good for *= days from the day it is first installed. !f you have not received your permanent license then it is possible that your trial license has e1pired. (he permanent license& which you re#uest from us& will only wor" on the computer with the same loc"ing code for 0is" !0. (o chec" whether the license code is recogni$ed& run the WlmAdmin.exe program located in the program folder defined above. 81pand ubnet ervers and e1pand the server name. You should see the license for your program under the server name.

!f the license is there& e1pand the license and chec" the license type. !t should be Normal License and not (rial License. %lso chec" the license start and e1piration date and C/U cloc" to confirm that the license is still valid. !f the license is not there& the permanent license sent to you might have the wrong loc"ing code.

You wonBt be able to register the license if it has the wrong code. (o get more information about your license code run lsdecode.exe found, by default installation& in C76/rogram Files6Computers and tructures6CSI program erver6License 'anager. !f the following 0A screen does not appear then un$ip the license file that was emailed to you into the above directory and try again. You should see the following7

(he number should always begin with D and the ne1t < digits should match the server loc"ing code shown in the lsdecode screen. !f the two numbers are different then email us at licenseEcsiber"eley.com and include a screen capture of your lsdecode.exe 0A screen and echoID.exe window. !f the two numbers are the same but the license does not show in the WlmAdmin.exe window then you might not have registered the license or the registration did not wor" properly. (ry the following 7 i3 0ouble clic" on ls icense.!at which is also located in the License 'anager folder. (his should register the license file with the license server. !f you get an error >* instead then it probably means you ran this batch file more than once and the license is already registered. You can chec" for the license in the WlmAdmin window. ii3 !f the license failed to register& you may have a problem using this method if your license server already has an e1pired or trial license file. You may get entinelL'7 8rror 9+:; /robably no servers running on this subnet entinelL'7 8rror 9+>; Failed to add license !n this case you can use WlmAdmin.exe to add the license as follows7 .un WlmAdmin.exe, e1pand ubnet ervers and e1pand the server name. elect the license you wish to replace. 0o a right button clic" on the license and select .emove Feature to eliminate the trial or e1pired license. Now do a right button clic" on the server name. 4o to %dd Feature 5 From a File 5 (o erver and its File !n the file window which appears& locate the license file F lser"rcB for your program and hit Apen. (he license should now show. You might need to refresh the )lm%dmin window. Confirm that the license shows the License (ype as Normal License. You should now be able to obtain a license from any client wor"station on the networ". .efer to !tem * below to resolve any problems with a client wor"station. Item 3. Chec" that the client wor"station is able to get a license from the license server. (he entinelL' license server is a program that coordinates use of a protected application by multiple users and computers. (his program usually runs on a computer that is located on the same subnet as any computer that needs to run the application. (he computers that run the application are called clients. )hen a protected application is started on the client& it sends a re#uest for a license across the networ" to the license server. (he license server grants the re#uest if possible and returns an authori$ation message bac" to the client. (he client on a different subnet server can also obtain the license by specifying a system environment variable called L FA.C8GA ( as follows7
