ADVERSE REACTIONS Musculoskeletal: osteimyeloitis Other: lymphadenopathy, allergic reaction CNS: seizure, fever, drowsiness GI: Anorexia, vomiting Skin: tenderness,redness and fretfulness CNS: Headache,fever, dizziness, insomnia, paresthesia EENT: Pharyngitis GI: Anorexia, diarrhea,nausea NURSING RESPONSIBILITIES >Dont inject vaccine IV,SC, ID >Inject epinephrine 1:1,000 available to treat anaphylaxis
Diphtheria and tetanus toxoids and acellular pertussis vaccine adsorbed (DtaP)
>Give only by deed IM injection preferably in thigh or deltoid muscles >In infants, give IM injection in the Anterolateral thigh >Recombinant hepatitis B vaccine isnt made with human plasma products. >Give vaccine in deltoid muscle for adults and adolescents.

ADVERSE REACTIONS CNS:febrile seizures in susceptible children, fever GI: anorexia Hematologic: leucopenia Skin: rashes, swelling,tenderness CNS: fever, sleepiness GI: decreased appetite Skin: Injection site erythema, induration, pain
NURSING RESPONSIBILITIES >Dont give vaccine IV >If skin is needed, give either before or simultaneously with vaccine.
Promotes immunity to poliomyelitis by inducing humoral antibodies and antibodies in the lymphatic tissue.
Poliovirus immunization
Contraindicated in patients hypersensitive to neomycin, streptomycin or polymyxin B and in neonates younger than age 6 weeks.
>vaccine isnt effective in modifying or preventing existing or incubating poliomyelitis >Vaccine may temporarily decrease response to tuberculin skin test.
