Submission process
Submit abstracts electronically by email in MS Word format to Ms. Cynthia Gordon at cynthia.gordon@duke.edu. You will receive notification by email that your abstract has been received. Notification of acceptance or rejection will be emailed the week of January 10, 2014. For questions, please call 919-681-3906.

Early Call for Abstracts


The 9th Annual Patient Safety and Quality conference will be held on March 13th, 2014. All interested health care professionals and students are welcome to submit professional abstracts for the conference poster session highlighting patient safety and/or quality research, education, quality improvement and innovation projects.

General Abstracts Writing Guidelines All abstracts should not exceed 700 words (excluding tables and graphs) Abstracts must include supporting data Writers must use the conference abstract and poster templates Process improvement abstracts must include a defined methodology See Resources section for link to examples from last years conference No late submissions will be accepted.

Abstract Scoring All posters will be judged in a blinded fashion by a panel of multidisciplinary health care professionals with safety and quality expertise. Best abstracts will be recognized at the podium during the conference plenary session. A special note to health care professional students: **The best abstract by a Duke health care professional student in any of the categories above will receive a special award at the podium!

**Authors will be responsible for conference registration, travel and associated costs.
