Definitions Genre is a way of categorising a particular media text

according to its content and style. A magazine would include a range of elements that makes us able to recognise that particular genre and therefore we would expect certain things to occur within it to identify each genre.

Sub-genre is a category that is a subdivision of a larger

genre. You will find a variety of sub-genres within a genre that allows a specific theme to be shown.

Hybrid-genre is a combination and blends themes and

elements from two or more different genres. For example: romance and comedy, comedy and drama, action and comedy, romantic and fantasy, horror and drama.
