Student/Parent Mobile Device Agreement


1. The provided mobile device, case, and accessories are the property of the Webster City Community School District. Each mobile device, case, and accessory will have a school district identity mark on it. The mobile device is property of the school district and as such falls under all applicable school board policies and guidelines. The mobile device must be enrolled in the school districts mobile device management system (Casper). The mobile device must also remain enrolled in the mobile device management system at all times. The school district will provide each student with a standard app package for use with the mobile device. These apps must be installed using the district mobile device management system. The standard apps must remain installed and in working order on the mobile device. Purchased apps or in app purchases installed by the student outside of the district mobile device management system will not be reimbursed by the school district. This will hold true even if the purchased apps becomes part of a future standard app package. The school district will provide each student with a case for the mobile device. The provided case is the only acceptable case for school district mobile devices. Mobile devices must remain in the provided case at all times. Damage to the mobile device when it is outside of the provided case will be repaired at parent expense. Learning is an anytime anywhere activity. Students are allowed and encouraged to take their mobile device with them as they see fit. However, the mobile device is expected to be with the student during normally scheduled school days. It is the students responsibility to make sure the mobile device is charged and in working order for school each day. Damage to the mobile device, case, and or accessories must be reported as soon as possible. Damage, as assessed by the Technology Department, found to be beyond day to day use may result in repair or replacement costs being assessed to the students parent/guardian.
*Minimum of $50 for minor repair *Up to $250 for damage without negligence. *Up to $100 for repeat/additional incident of repair per student *Up to $600 for loss/damages that could be prevented.

Students leaving the school district must return the mobile device, case, and accessories assigned to them to their school building on the last day of their enrollment.
