sandw|ch structure |s a comp|ex sub|ect, and |s beyond the
scope o th|s pub||cat|on.
For a more soph|st|cated ana|ys|s o a structure, cons|der|ng
the sandw|ch pane| to be sub|ected to a comb|nat|on o orces,
a techn|que such as F|n|te E|ement Ana|ys|s (FEA) m|ght be
used.
ln genera| terms, the shear orces norma| to the pane| w||| be
carr|ed by the honeycomb core. Bend|ng moments and |n-
p|ane orces on the pane| w||| be carr|ed as membrane orces
|n the ac|ng sk|ns.
For many pract|ca| cases, where the span o the pane| |s |arge
compared to |ts th|ckness, the shear de|ect|on w||| be
neg||g|b|e. ln these cases, |t may be poss|b|e to obta|n
reasonab|e resu|ts by mode|||ng the structure us|ng compos|te

Heated Press
