Asking Questions: WH-questions Yes-No Questions

This document discusses two types of questions in American Sign Language (ASL): WH-questions and Yes-No questions. WH-questions use interrogative words like who, what, when, where, why, how, which, how many, how much, what time, and how old. They require specific non-manual signals and the WH-word is often placed at the end of the sentence. Yes-No questions can be answered with yes or no and also have distinct non-manual signals, with the last sign held for a response. Examples of both question types are provided.
