Lesson Proper
“This time class, let us understand the
different rules in formulating an information
question or the Wh-question. Please read,
Dinah.”
“Wh-questions begin with what, when,
where, who, whom, which, whose, why,
and how. We use them to ask for
information. The answer cannot be yes or
no.
“Today let’s first have the basic questions.
Can you formulate a question that begins with
what? Yes, Maki.”
“What is your name?”
“Very good, Maki. What question is a
complex question since we can used it to ask
an objective or subjective information.
Usually, what question refers to things.
Another example, Jhored.”
“What is the matter with you?”
“Correct, Jhored. Give a question that
starts with when? Yes, Marwin.”
“When is your birthday?”
“Thank you, Marwin. The question when
refers to time. Who can give an example of a
where question? Yes, Gerald.”
“Where do you live?”
“Correct, Gerald. The question where
refers to place. Give an example of the
question, who? Yes, Jayril.”
“Who is the owner of this notebook?”
“Yes, very good Jayril. Who question
refers usually to a person. Can you give an
example of a question, why? Yes, Casey.”
“Why is she angry today?”
