Lessons 1-2

The focus of lessons 1 and 2 should be to re-introduce the WOW! (which you previewed at
the Apprenticeship Fair) and build excitement.

Lesson Objectives

 Foreshadowing your WOW! and getting students excited

 Fostering positive relationships through teambuilding activities
 Introducing students to your classroom expectations, procedures and routines

Lessons 3-7
Lesson Objectives

During lessons 3-7, you will teach your apprentices the skills and content they need to
accomplish their WOW! Be sure to engage students in activities that meet daily learning
objectives and work towards the WOW! Here are some best practices:

 Get to know your apprentices and continue to build relationships

 Continuously promote 21st Century Skills through hands-on learning activities
 Consistently connect the daily objectives and activities to the WOW!
 Provide opportunities for student leadership, e.g., daily roles
 Set up time early on with your Team Leader to identify and resolve common behavior
challenges
 Include a mid-semester guest speaker or exploration

Lessons 8-10
Lesson Objectives

The focus for lessons 8-10 should be to review student learning and prepare for the WOW!
Be sure to:

 Review key concepts, 21st Century Skills, and connections to college and career
possibilities
 Establish student roles and responsibilities for the WOW! Additionally, identify roles
for Team Leader, Citizen Teacher and other supporters
Allow apprentices sufficient time to practice for their WOW!
