August 22, 2013 Hello, My Name is Sarah Katlyn Anthony, and I go by both names, Sarah Katlyn.

Im a sophomore, elementary education major. Ive wanted to be a teacher for as long as I can remember. I just really always loved to help people, and work with children. Plus little kids say the funniest humanly things possible. I think the main reason Ive always wanted to work with young children is because they dont judge you by what you say or do. Ive always felt like I can be myself around them. Over the post 6 summers I have babysat the same 2 children. Over the years we have developed a close bond that has assured me that Im working toward a degree that Im going to love everyday. Getting paid to do what I love seems almost to good to be true. Elizabeth and Jonathan, the 2 kids I babysit, have helped me to realize that you can have fun by playing silly games, watching things on the discovery network, and just spending time with the people you love. Because Im an only child they have became my little brother and sister over the years. My parents have been my biggest inspiration in life. My favorite thing to do is play or watch sports. My dad was my basketball coach for 10 year. He thought me everything I know about all sports. We can really talk sports all day Im not joking. We live for Carolina basketball! We also enjoy following our local Post 100

American Legion team in our town in the summer. This is a hobby my dad and I both have enjoyed from very young ages. Its our thing we like to do together. My mom is my hero. She is the absolute strongest human being I have ever met. My was diagnosed with Parkinsons Disease 10 years ago. Since her diagnoses she has faced each day with bravery, heart, and determination. Her courage gives me and others round her strength.

I went to high school with my 3 best friends in the world. I dont know what I would do without Laura, Betsy, and Kaleigh. I currently go to college and am roommates with Laura and Kaleigh. Betsy goes to Gardner Webb University, but comes to visit in charlotte often!

I have grown up in a little town about and hour away from Charlotte called Cherryville, NC. Its one of the smallest towns on earth, but I love it there. Everyone knows everyone. I went from elementary to high school with the same group of kids. Like I said, you know everyone and everyone knows you! I was a 2012 graduate of West Lincoln High School, and my graduating class had 221 people in it. The highlight of the week at my school was going to watch Friday night football, and sit in the Cow Bell choir with all your friends at the game. Yes, I said Cow Bell choir. Our student section was filled with students ringing cowbells nonstop from the first kick-off until the last second of the game. I miss that part of high school.

I miss my sweet Golden Retriever at home to death. Leaving him is always the hardest part about coming back to school. His name is Tucker Tyler Hansbrough Anthony, but we call him TucTuc for short. He is a big ball of energy. He loves to play ALL THE TIME(he takes no days off)!!!! He never fails to put a smile on my face.

My list of accomplishments at West Lincoln High School entails many items. Beginning with perfect attendance from kindergarten threw 12th grade. I am a Hugh OBrian Leadership Seminar ambassador, and a former Hugh OBrian Leadership Seminar Junior Staff member. At my senior awards day I was honored as a NC scholar, Family & Consumer Science Student of the Year, and a West Lincoln High Outstanding Senior. I was

also awarded 3 separate scholarships totaling 5,000 dollars. I was a member of the Lincoln County Student Advisory Council my senior year, and was also the West Lincoln High School student body secretary. I am a lifetime member of the National Technical Honor Society. I represented West Lincoln High School on Homecoming Court. I also started the Interact Club at my school, and was the President for 3 years.

In Closing I would just like to say that Im looking forward to this class. My number one goal in life is to be successful. I am a perfectionist and you will come to find that out this semester. I want everything I turn in to be perfect in my eyes. I work really hard at everything I do. Thank you for allowing me to share a little bit of background about myself and where I come from. I look forward to a great semester.

Sincerely, Sarah Katlyn Anthony
