Nutrition 409 Nutrition 409 is the lab class for Nutrition 408 MNT II class.

And even though I still havent taken Nutrition 408, I think this class has a big role in my education this semester. Mainly because this class facilitated myself to decide what type of careers I would be most interested in and what I can see myself doing in the future. I liked that this class showed us the many career paths that we can chose as nutrition students. And we also had the opportunity to hear the stories of many amazing professionals that are practicing registered dietitians like Breda Oday, Yumi Petrisko, Katie Ferero, Rocio Hernandez and many others professionals that currently have exciting careers in the dietetic field. This class gave me an idea of what I am more interested in pursuing in the future, like pediatric nutrition or working with patients in acute trauma. The two speakers that stood out to me the most were Brenda Oday and Rocio Hernandez because they seems like they were really passionate about what they do. They also seemed like they both had two of the most rewarding careers to work with children and acute trauma patients because of the difference and big impact they make on patients lives with proper nutrition. In this class we also had the chance to work on case study questions and NCPs for three case studied one of the interesting cases that we worked on was the dialysis patient because of all the effects that kidney functions has on our bodies. I am excited to learn more about chronic kidney disease next semester in Nutrition 408 and hope I know some of the material that will be taught next semester. Overall, this class has been really insightful and encouraging to keep pursuing to become an RD. Im glad I took this semester because I always got it out of the way and wont have to be worried about getting in to the class. This class definitely taught me a few things about what I want to do with my life in rewards to my professional career and was rewarding to learn about all the different careers.
