Weakness: 4 out of 7 students provided inadequate (short, incomplete sentences) responses to items 6 & 7.

2: Interpreting Data Diagnose Error followed by other (perceived to be outside teacher control) I examined the student responses to items 6 & 7. Upon review, all four students lacked sufficient critical thinking when responding to the questions. There was a lack of depth within the answers provided. This is potentially a conceptual error in that students did not understand what the question was asking or did not possess the knowledge necessary to answer the question as it is written. There are also potential procedural errors in that the students may not have had enough time in class to complete the assignment. Students might have also failed to reach the depth necessary knowing that the assignment was only going to be graded for completion. As a result, students might not have achieved the critical thinking desired by assignment design due to a lack of interest in the topic. Finally, students may have failed to reach these questions as a result of other circumstances. Some students may not have been as equipped to work with the technology thereby limiting their ability to navigate the web quest. Parental predispositions about the advertisements and products advertised as well as previous exposure to the material may have also impacted the way the students responded to the questions asked.
