There are fo%r different forms of $ome G%ard6 L.D.V. 14 May - 22 July 1940 Relativel' +oorl' armed more o&servers than com&atants : +ossi&l' o%t of sco+e( /nteresting &eca%se of the *+anish War vets that hadn't &een sidelined 'et( Home Guard 22 July 1940 - 3 December 1944, Disbanded 31 December 194 Will change com+osition armaments and role over the co%rse of the war also generating different s%++ort lists( / see two s%& variants +erha+s also with different s%++ort lists6

Co%ntr' Battalions6 4lder WW/ vets leavened with %nder aged &o's( /ts constit%ent com+anies! +latoons and sections are scattered thro%gh the region Eno idea how man' farmers &lacksmiths and other co%ntr' men were left on the land( . more research reF%ired here(G Town Battalions . A fo%gasse is a &arrel or &arrels of flamma&le liF%id with a small e>ection and ignition charge at the &ottom( The' were %s%all' &%ried in roadside earthen &anks ( The' are command detonated &' a %nit with line of sight to the fo%gasse and that has not 'et moved d%ring the game( Their +osition and direction of fire m%st &e marked on a ma+ held &' the $G +la'er( The' act as a one shot infantr' flame thrower! attacking all %nits in the direction of fire to a range of ;( There were hedge ho++ers variants that +ro>ected the flaming &arrel over a wall or hedge! &%t the' need to &e em+laced &' Ro'al 8ngineers( Again their location m%st &e recorded along with an im+act +oint within 3 of the location and direction of fire m%st &e recorded( The' attack all %nits within 2 of the im+act +oint( $ard cover s%ch as stone walls will &lock all effects on %nits &ehind that cover( *oft cover +rovides no &enefit(
