One Act Play Production Notebook Explanation & Points


To be completed as a group. Please divide work appropriately and pay attention to due dates that correspond with the calendar. Dec. 4: A list of the cast members and their part(s) in the play. (2 points) Dec. 5: A scale drawing of the set(s), along with written explanation of the staging area and connection to the play. Use provided worksheets to draw in all set pieces. (5 points) Dec. 10: A complete list of all the props used in the play. (These may be already designated by the playwright, or you may have other props that you added to the play.) (5 points) Dec. 13: A drawing of each persons costume(s), along with a written explanation of costume choice, color, connection to character. All choices must be purposeful! Use provided worksheets. (5 points) Dec. 19: A drawing of each persons makeup, along with a written explanation of character vs. straight makeup, specialty makeup needed, and choice and connection to character. Use provided worksheets. (*Note that makeup may not be used in the school day performance depending on scheduling.) (5 points) Jan. 3: A program for your play that includes the following: (6 points) Date of performance Performance time Cast list a. Scenes (if needed) b.
