During our busy and electric days there are moments when instead of doing nothing we could use

time to our advantage. How many times werent you bored waiting at the family doctor, anxious when waiting in line, stressed when getting to work or getting home at the end of the day? CO !"#$% & my study case for today & is a migraine&inducing task about as 'leasurable as getting your license renewed, and some of us have to do it every day. HOW MANY OF YOU ARE COMMUTING??? # feel sorry for you, if you are commuting, you are not s'ending (uality time with your loved ones, you are not exercising, you are not 'laying with your kids )or your 'ets* & )finger count* . +ou are not doing any of the things that make human beings ha''y. #nstead, you are getting nauseous on a bus, 'acked on a train, or cut off in traffic. ,hen theres nothing you can do about it you need to find ways to en-oy it. .emember? if you cant change it, change your attitude/ # wont focus on a 'articular means of trans'ort, as # have been using both 'ublic trans'ort and car for several years. 0eaving aside the most common activities such as listening to music or reading a book, what follows are some ideas for being more 'roductive while waiting to get to your destination, briefly 'ut, ti's for turning time from enemy into friend1 1) One useful point is to try learning new skills or a new language by listening to CDs designed for in&car use or audio&books for your 23 'layer. 4udio materials are now available on different formats and on a variety of sub-ects. 2) Besides this, I often take the time to catch u' with family and friends. y mom is always more than ha''y when # call her -ust for a chat and my college friends are usually u' for a conversation. # also give and receive business or other work&related calls which buys me more time during the day. 3) Or how about.....finding a fellow em'loyee to car'ool with or travel together on a bus or train?"ime always 'asses by faster if you engage yourself in a conversation. 2lus you can actually learn something new each day. 4) What I think is also great is that you can 'lan out your 5to do5 lists )'rofessional tasks, chores, vacation etc*. ight not come as handy when you have to drive, but for instance, when sto''ing at a light, # sometimes (uickly -ot down my thoughts. +oull find that you can get much more accom'lished during the day if you make a 'lan. 6tudies 'rove that if you know how you will s'end your day it hel's to decrease the level of stress. ) !urther"ore, think about your goals both long and short&term. #s there something s'ecific that you want to accom'lish in your career? ,hat about 'ersonal goals? 7y sim'ly taking your commuting time to re&assess and 'lan your goals, you will constantly 'ush and challenge yourself. +oull be ama8ed at how much you can achieve/ #) $nother ad%i&e I a&tually ha%e fro" a friend is to 'ractice your hobby. 4rtists are doing handmade -ewelleries, musicians write songs and even sing if alone in the car.
